Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance Assistant to join our hotel team. The successful candidate will help maintain the hotel's facilities, guest rooms, and public areas to ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out basic maintenance and repair tasks throughout the hotel.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments.
- Assist with the upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
- Perform routine inspections of hotel equipment and systems.
- Support preventative maintenance programmes.
- Complete basic plumbing, painting, carpentry, and electrical repairs where appropriate.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with health and safety regulations.
- Report maintenance issues that require specialist attention.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organised condition.
- Assist in emergency situations and respond to urgent maintenance issues as required.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, or handyman role is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, and general building maintenance.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
Qualifications
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English preferred.
- Relevant maintenance, trade, or health and safety qualifications are advantageous but not essential.

This role plays an important part in ensuring the hotel remains safe, functional, and welcoming for all guests and team members.
Pay: £25,420.00-£27,000.00 per year
