Job Introduction
You will help people facing barriers to employment turn plans into practical progress and sustainable work. This role combines employment coaching with proactive sales: you will manage a caseload of around 50 to 65 people while making cold sales calls to employers to generate vacancies, interviews and jobs.
Success is measured through outcomes. If you want a coaching role without targets, employer sales or accountability for results, this is unlikely to be the right fit.
To be considered, your CV must clearly demonstrate:
-
Experience supporting, advising or influencing customers, clients or participants towards practical outcomes.
-
Evidence of achieving sales, performance or outcome targets.
-
Confidence managing multiple customer relationships, appointments or competing priorities.
-
Strong one-to-one communication, including giving clear, constructive feedback and following up agreed actions.
-
Confidence starting conversations, including outbound telephone contact, and handling rejection professionally.
-
Confident working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to learn and adapt to other software and digital systems.
Your CV matters here. You will advise people on CVs and applications, so yours should demonstrate the clear, accurate and achievement-focused standard you would recommend to them.
Experience in employability, recruitment, business development, careers, education, housing, sales, customer service, retail or hospitality leadership could be useful. Employability experience itself is not essential.
You will manage a caseload of approximately 50 - 65 people, with up to eight appointments on a busy day. You will help people identify realistic work, improve CVs and applications, prepare for interviews and develop the routines and behaviours employers expect.
Sometimes you will encourage someone whose confidence is low. At other times, you will need to challenge missed appointments, incomplete actions or expectations that are getting in the way of progress.
Alongside this, you will make regular cold sales calls to employers who may not know Get Set UK. You will uncover recruitment needs, promote suitable candidates, handle objections and turn conversations into vacancies and interviews.
Sales is not an occasional addition. It is a core, measured part of the role.
You will also follow up employer leads and disengaged participants, keep accurate case notes and balance administration with a busy appointment diary.
Within 90 days, you should be managing a full diary, delivering purposeful appointments and maintaining accurate, timely records.
You should also be making confident cold calls, developing an employer pipeline and promoting candidates effectively.
Performance is measured through vacancy generation, job starts, sustained employment and the quality of your casework.
This is an office-based, target-driven role. You will hear “no” from employers, follow up people who do not attend and receive feedback on your performance. You need to be comfortable being accountable for results while treating people with consideration and professionalism.
You will receive structured training, management support and regular feedback, alongside:
-
25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
-
Pension contributions
-
Employee ownership share scheme
-
Health and wellbeing support
-
Gym discounts
-
Development opportunities
