The Little John is a busy and well-established pub with rooms in the heart of Hathersage, offering a lively atmosphere alongside comfortable guest accommodation, including a number of rooms and cottages.
Recently brought into the Northern Collective family, the Little John is entering an exciting new chapter. We’re building on its strong reputation while bringing fresh energy, high standards, and a continued focus on friendly, down-to-earth hospitality for both pub-goers and hotel guests alike.
We’re on the lookout for a friendly, hardworking Hospitality Assistant to join the team.
The Role
This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are quite the same.
- Clean and maintain guest rooms, public areas, and staff facilities in accordance with hotel standards
- Prepare and serve breakfast items in the designated dining area, ensuring presentation and quality meet company guidelines
- Restock supplies and organise linen inventories as needed
- Assist with setting up breakfast tables and clearing away after service
- Follow health and safety procedures, including proper handling of cleaning products and food safety protocols
- Report maintenance issues or damages promptly to management
- Ensure all areas are kept tidy, organised, and hygienic throughout the shift
About You
- Previous hotel experience or hospitality background is highly desirable
- Knowledge of janitorial practices and cleaning techniques
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment
