We are seeking a Commercial Sales Assistant to join our team, who will focus on supporting all commercial aspects across the business. Working closely with the team you will provide and develop projects within the impact protection industry, assisting on tenders and supply only sales. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a sales-driven environment and delivers outstanding customer service.
The role is based at head office in the Milton Keynes area, with the availability to work from home two days per week.
Responsibilities
Supply Only Sales

Support with Supply Only customer sales, handling customer enquiries from initial acknowledgment to qualification, quoting, conversion and aftersales.

Monitor the sales inbox and website for leads and opportunities.

Communicating with customers, making outbound calls, and following up on leads to understanding their needs and identifying sales opportunities.

Follow up on outstanding quotes and maintain a sales pipeline.

Process sales orders in line with current processes, ensuring sufficient stock levels and lead times.

Inform the purchasing department of required materials/equipment prior to passing live projects onto the warehouse department for preparation.

Proactively and regularly manage customer expectations, keeping them informed of timeframes for quotes and delivery/ETA.
Projects & Tenders

Develop detailed cost estimates for bespoke and project-specific works, including sourcing materials, labour, and specialist resources while establishing new supplier channels.

Assist with tender analysis and cost benchmarking to ensure best value for the company and client.

Prepare accurate quotations and tender submissions for customers, providing recommendations based on installation techniques, cost efficiency, and commercial strategy.

Liaise with the Head of Projects and Contracts to review gross margins, budgets, and commercial risks prior to submission.

Maintain the tender register and update the CRM system throughout the project/tender lifecycle.

Manage and record scope changes and variation orders, assessing cost and time impacts and assisting in formal submission to clients.

Support in the negotiation of customer contracts and liaise with KAM team to ensure key commercial terms are accurately reflected.

Attend sales/customer meetings/site visits as and when required. Inclusive of, but not limited to undertaking site surveys, marking up drawings, completing site survey checklists and attending Interim application meetings.

Support in tracking project costs and expenditure, identifying potential risks, and assisting in the preparation of commercial reports and cash flow forecasts. Including but not limited to maintaining accurate gross margin reporting throughout the life of a project.

Maintain regular communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams throughout each project lifecycle.
General

Manage and record scope changes and variation orders, assessing cost and time impacts and assisting in formal submission to clients.

Coordinate with the Project team to assist in preparing applications for payment, invoices, and final accounts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.

Maintain comprehensive, auditable records of correspondence, cost data, and contract documentation.

Support the wider team with technical information as and when required.

Identify and promote cross-sell and repeat business opportunities.

Maintain commercial awareness of our key markets, competitor products, pricing and service offerings, and review regularly with key stakeholders with a view to ensuring our offer/range meets our clients demands.

Education/Qualifications
Essential

Good standard of general education backed by a track record of continuing professional development.
