Assistant Coach & 2nd XV Head Coach
Reading Rugby Club is seeking an ambitious and motivated Assistant Coach to join our senior coaching team and take the lead role with our 2nd XV.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience or expertise in Physical Performance, forwards or defence coaching, who can help drive player development across the club while supporting the performance of our 1st XV and leading the 2nd XV programme.
This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring coach looking to step into a senior leadership role within an ambitious community rugby club.
The Role Working closely with the Director of Rugby, Head Coach and senior leadership team, you will:
- Support the delivery of the club's overall playing philosophy and coaching programme.
- Lead the coaching, selection and matchday management of the 2nd XV Assist with coaching and player development across the senior squad
- Help identify and develop players progressing towards 1st XV rugby.
- Foster a positive, competitive and inclusive playing environment
What we're looking for in you:
- A coach who is Passionate about player development and team culture
- Keen to develop their own coaching career Experienced in rugby coaching, ideally within senior men's rugby
- A specialist within Physical Performance
- A strong communicator capable of motivating players and managing a squad environment.
- Organised, reliable and collaborative
- A specialist in one of the key areas below o Physical Performance (S&C), Technical / Tactical Coaching (Set piece, Forward, Defence etc)
- RFU coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential for the right candidate
