Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook/Chef with a background in care home food service to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a welcoming kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of our residents through exceptional meal provision and team leadership.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals in accordance with dietary requirements and nutritional guidelines.
- Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient food production and adherence to food safety standards.
- Oversee food presentation, ensuring meals are served attractively and on time.
- Lead and motivate kitchen team members, fostering a collaborative and professional environment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times during food preparation and service.
- Serve meals to residents in a courteous manner, ensuring their dietary preferences are respected.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within hospitality or care environments.
- Food hygiene - Level 3
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures relevant to care home settings.
- knowledge of allergies experience.
- 6 months of UK experience working within a care home environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends if necessary.
- A genuine interest in providing nutritious meals that enhance residents’ quality of life. This role offers an engaging environment where culinary expertise directly impacts residents’ wellbeing, fostering a warm community atmosphere through quality meal provision.
