How the role will make an impact:
The Assistant Accountant will support the finance function by managing day-to-day transactional accounting activities and contributing to management accounts preparation and analysis. This role involves responsibility for Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR) and delivering insightful financial reporting to support business decision-making.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

Match purchase orders, goods receipts and invoices (3-way matching).

Manage supplier payment runs and ensure adherence to payment terms.

Raise and issue customer invoices promptly and accurately.
-
Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding balances.
-
Allocate incoming payments and maintain up-to-date ledgers.
-
Perform credit control activities to minimise aged debt.

Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Key Skills:

Proven experience in a finance role covering AP and AR.
-
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
-
AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA (Desirable)
