The The Jane Austen Centre is looking for a Seasonal Tea Room Assistant to join our friendly team at our popular city centre tourist attraction.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual who enjoys working in a busy hospitality environment and takes pride in delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing excellent customer service to Tea Room visitors
- Delivering table service and ensuring guests have an enjoyable experience
- Supporting the Supervisor and Operations Manager in maintaining high standards throughout the Tea Room
- Assisting with day-to-day operations and ensuring cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained
- Working effectively as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment
About You:
- Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or table service preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and positive approach
- Able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, flexible, and able to maintain high standards under pressure
- Available to work weekends and seasonal shifts
- Must be available to work throughout the Jane Austen Festival, taking place from 11th – 20th September 2026
Working Pattern:
- 1–2 days per week
- Shift times vary between 9:30am and 6:30pm
- Includes Weekends & Bank Holidays
- Sunday availability Preferred.
This position will be a Seasonal Position from July - Mid September
