An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller / Bookkeeper to join a growing, independent estate agency based in Chester.

The Role
Working closely with the senior management team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day financial management and bookkeeping of the business, ensuring that the company's financial processes are accurate, efficient and well organised.
This is a hands-on role and would suit someone who enjoys having ownership of their work and being an integral part of a growing business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration
- Processing purchase and sales invoices
- Managing accounts payable and receivable
- Bank reconciliations
- Monitoring incoming and outgoing payments
- Preparing and maintaining financial records
- Credit control and chasing outstanding payments
- Supporting payroll and staff expenses
- VAT preparation and submissions
- Producing regular management reports
- Monitoring cash flow
- Supporting month-end and year-end processes
- Working closely with external accountants
- Maintaining accurate financial records across the business
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and systems
- Providing financial insight and support to the directors
- Ensuring appropriate financial controls and procedures are maintained
Essential Experience
Previous experience within an estate agency, lettings business, property company or similar property-related environment is essential.
You will ideally have a strong understanding of the financial processes involved within a property business and be comfortable dealing with the complexities of an estate agency environment.
