Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Tyre Fitter / Light Vehicle Mechanic and become a vital part of delivering top-quality vehicle maintenance and tyre services. In this energetic role, you'll be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tyres and light vehicle systems, ensuring safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Your mechanical expertise and hands-on skills will drive the success of our service operations, providing reliable solutions for commercial clients and fleet operators alike.
NOTE, We will consider either an experienced tyre fitter or a light vehicle mechanic, experience in both would be an advantage but not essential.
There will be overtime available and you will be expected to join our on call rote which you will be payed over and above the salery offered. You will also get 28 days holiday per year inc stat days.
Responsibilities
- Install, remove, and replace tyres on commercial vehicles and light vehicles using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on vehicles to identify issues related to tyres, brakes, suspension, and other mechanical components
- Diagnose mechanical problems using schematics and technical manuals to determine necessary repairs or replacements
- Perform equipment repairs and welding tasks to ensure all tools and machinery are in optimal condition
- Assist with assembly of vehicle components during repairs or upgrades, adhering to safety standards
- Maintain detailed service records, including inspection reports, repair logs, and maintenance schedules
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures clearly and offering professional advice on vehicle care
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in tyre fitting or light vehicle maintenance
- Ability to interpret schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools effectively
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks associated with tyre installation and equipment handling
- Experience with equipment repair, maintenance routines, and general vehicle servicing
- Strong customer service skills with a professional approach to client interactions
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
