Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood development across social, emotional, cognitive, and physical domains
- Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, nap times, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and well-being at all times
- Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and confidence among children
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about children’s progress, needs, and any concerns that arise
- Lead and support team members in daily routines, ensuring high standards of childcare and adherence to regulatory guidelines
- Maintain accurate records of children’s development milestones, attendance, and health information
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive team environment focused on continuous improvement and best practices in early childhood education
Skills
- Proven management and leadership skills to guide and motivate a team of childcare professionals
- Extensive experience working with children in nursery or early childhood education settings
- Strong understanding of childcare principles, child development stages, and nursery operations
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to implement engaging activities that support early learning goals
- Valid childcare qualifications or relevant certifications in early childhood education preferred
- A valid driver’s license is advantageous for roles requiring travel between multiple locations or community engagement activities
