We’re looking for a passionate, driven Youth Work Coordinator (or Senior, dependent on experience) to join our vibrant charity and engage young people in informal learning opportunities that promote their physical, mental, social and emotional development.
This role requires someone who is a natural motivator with a genuine passion for youth work. You will need to have experience of planning, delivering and evaluating detached and centre-based youth work and informal educational activities.
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, across 5 days to include a minimum of 3 evenings (up to 9pm).
Location: YMCA Horley Young People and Family Centre with work at various venues across East Surrey
Key responsibilities:
- To lead, plan, deliver and evaluate YMCA East Surrey Youth Work offer including detached and centre-based activities.
- To co-ordinate YMCA detached programme - Y Bus and Street Talk including liaising with partner agencies. This includes driving YMCAES’s Y Bus.
- To coordinate youth work holiday programme including applying for relevant funding and delivering trips / residentials.
- To actively engage with young people in a wide range of youth work programmes that promote personal and social development.
- To deliver information, advice, and guidance to young people referring to specialist agencies where appropriate.
- To meet with young people to agree action plans to assist with their social and personal development.
- Involve young people in co-production of all the youth work undertaken.
- To supervise the activity environment to ensure physical and emotional/personal safety for all children and young people attending. This includes completing appropriate records of any accidents, injuries or incidents that may occur, and any medication administered using MyConcern safeguarding software.

PAY:
- Youth Work Coordinator: £27,583 - £30,873 dependent on experience
- Senior Youth Work Coordinator: £30,873 - £35,306 – dependant on experience
