Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, support kitchen operations, and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs in food production, ensuring quality and presentation meet company guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
- Supervise junior kitchen staff when required, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Contribute to menu planning and ingredient management, ensuring efficient utilisation of supplies
- Ensure all food safety standards are strictly followed throughout the food preparation process
- Assist with serving food to customers during busy periods, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
- Support in training new team members, sharing knowledge of culinary techniques and safety procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated supervisory experience and ability to manage team members effectively
- Excellent understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Passion for culinary arts with a keen eye for detail and quality assurance
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and serve customers professionally
