Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Roofer / Multi-Skilled Tradesperson to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems while utilizing a broad range of construction skills. Your expertise will ensure high-quality workmanship across various projects, contributing to the durability and safety of our clients’ structures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse tasks that require both technical proficiency and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Carry out pitched roofing works to a high standard
- Install and repair slate and tiled roofs
- Strip and re-roof existing properties
- Install breathable membranes, battens, tiles and slates
- Install and repair leadwork, including valleys, flashings and soakers
- Carry out roof repairs, fault finding and leak investigation
- Install and repair uPVC fascias, soffits and guttering
- Install and repair downpipes and rainwater systems
- Carry out roofline replacements, including removal of existing timber/uPVC
- Work on extensions, renovations and new-build roofing projects
- Install roof insulation and ventilation systems
- Work around rooflights and Velux-style windows
- Complete pointing, verges, ridges and chimney-related roofing works
- Read and work from drawings and specifications
- Calculate materials and organise work efficiently
- Work independently when required and alongside other trades
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area
- Follow company procedures and UK health & safety requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ roofing experience — ideally 10+ years
- Strong experience with pitched roofs, tiles and slates
- Good experience installing fascias, soffits and guttering is highly desirable
- Competent with leadwork and general roof repairs
- Able to identify roofing defects and recommend appropriate repairs
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Able to read drawings, specifications and measurements
- Good understanding of current roofing methods and building practices
- High standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
- Comfortable working at height and using appropriate access equipment
- Own hand tools preferred
- Full UK driving licence
- Additional general building/multi-trade experience would be desirable
- Experience with FASCIAS, SOFFITS AND GUTTERING would be a big advantage, as we regularly undertake this type of work alongside our roofing projects.
WORKING HOURS
Monday – Friday
8:00am – 4:30pm
Day rate £160 - £180 depending on experience.
Initially a 3-month trial period, with permanent employment available for the right person.
Company van for the right candidate.
