Chef - Alma Nine Elms
Alma Nine Elms is our first full all-day dining site, and we're looking for a Chef to work in the kitchen and help set the standard as we build into the evening.
Founded in Barnes in 2016, Alma has grown into a recognised London brunch brand. Nine Elms is our boldest site yet: an all-day restaurant built around elevated brunch, great coffee, a serious juice bar, and a proper food & bar offer that carries through into the evening.
Opening in the coming weeks, this role will be key to the success of the launch. You will lead the kitchen team, manage day-to-day operations, and help set the standard from day one.
We’re looking for a hands-on Chef with strong service awareness, good organisational skills, and the confidence to lead a quality-led, all-day kitchen. Pizza experience is preferred and will be a very important advantage for this role, as the evening food offer will require strong execution, consistency, and confidence with pizza production.
You should be comfortable working across a busy all-day operation and able to keep standards high under pressure.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Managing prep and service with consistency, pace and attention to detail
- Building, training and developing the kitchen team
- Maintaining food quality, organisation and kitchen standards
- Managing stock control, ordering, waste management and daily prep
- Upholding strong food safety, cleanliness and compliance standards
- Helping establish Alma Nine Elms’ kitchen systems and standards from the start
- Supporting the development and smooth execution of the evening food offer, including pizza
What we’re looking for
- Experience as a Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef, or strong Sous Chef ready to step up
- A background in a quality-led restaurant kitchen
- Pizza experience is highly preferred and very important for this role
- A calm, organised and hands-on approach
- Strong standards and the ability to perform under pressure
- Good leadership skills and the confidence to manage a kitchen team
- Someone who wants to be part of an important opening and help build the kitchen properly from the start
What we offer
- Competitive pay plus strong TRONC (advertised salary is inclusive of guaranteed minimum TRONC)
- Staff food and coffee provided on shift
- Enrolment into the company pension scheme
- Real opportunity for professional progression as Alma grows
- The chance to play a key role in an important new opening
If Alma Nine Elms sounds like the right kitchen for you, we would like to hear from you.
