The Cairndale Hotel & Spa is one of South West Scotland’s leading hospitality destinations, offering guests a warm welcome, luxurious spa experiences, and outstanding service. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a friendly and professional Hotel Receptionist to join our front-of-house team.
Role Overview:
As a Hotel Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing a seamless check-in and check-out experience while delivering exceptional customer service. You will handle reservations, guest queries, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests with a warm and professional approach, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Efficiently manage check-ins and check-outs using our hotel reservation system.
- Handle guest inquiries in person, via phone, and email, providing accurate information about the hotel, spa, dining, and local area.
- Process payments, issue invoices, and maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, spa, and other departments to meet guest requests.
- Handle room reservations and modifications, ensuring availability is updated in real time.
- Assist with special requests, such as arranging late check-outs or VIP amenities.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
- Promote hotel facilities, events, and packages to maximize guest experience and revenue.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous hotel reception or front desk experience preferred but not essential—training provided.
- Strong customer service skills with a positive, professional attitude.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling reservations and billing.
- Computer literacy, with experience in hotel reservation systems (desirable but not required).
- A friendly and approachable personality, with a passion for hospitality.
