Anderson Knight is delighted to be partnering with a key client based in Glasgow who are looking to recruit a Pre-Construction Operations Manager.
The purpose of the job is to manage a safe, efficient, cost effective and customer focused delivery service by ensuring that successful, profitable engineered project solutions which comply with legislation and client specification are delivered. This work is of a non-routine nature across the area of their operations and expertise. Maintain and develop excellent relationships with the customer. Ensure the effective management and utilisation of resources is applied therefore providing continuous quality service.
Duties and Responsibilities: -
- Oversee projects from the Pre-Construction Phase through to completion & handover
- Develop project delivery strategies, programmes, resource strategies etc.
- Monitor project progress against programme & budget, identifying potential delays, risks & opportunities at an early stage
- Co-Ordinate site teams & Sub-Contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently & to the required quality standards
- Attend Client, design team, progress, tender & internal meetings
- Ensuring deadlines are met, and projects are delivered on time and any delays or disruptions are kept to a minimum.
TENDERS & BID SUPPORT
- Review tender documentation and assist the Business Development team by producing project delivery strategies as part of our tender return package
- Prepare high quality construction methodologies and delivery programmes that align with out tender submission
- Develop tender & construction programmes
- Identify key project risks, constraints & opportunities
- Be involved with visiting potential projects, engaging with clients from an early stage. Visit enquiries & assist the sales team in producing a high quality tender submission
- Contribute technical & operational knowledge to the bid team
You will be commercial minded, analysing costs and value engineering to ensure budgets are maintained. It’s likely this person will have gained prior exposure in the Construction Industry, Structural Steel roofing and cladding environment. Strong Contracts Management or Operations function on commercial projects.
- Previous experience in Project Management, operations Management, Pre-Construction or a similar role
- A strong understanding of construction project delivery from tender through to completion
- Strong planning & organisational skills
- A strong understanding of project delivery, from tender stage through to handover
- Strong IT skills, including ability to create visual references for methodologies, e.g. use of software such as Bluebeam, SketchUp, CAD etc.
- Ability to be client facing
- Adaptable & comfortable working across multiple disciplines.

Pay: £65,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
