Here at Bees House Norton we are seeking dedicated Senior and general Children's Residential Care Workers to join our team. We are a short term specialist children's home with high staffing levels and undertaking 90 day assessments of need. We need experienced staff who understand trauma and how to manage behaviour arising from this trauma. This role involves providing compassionate support and supervision to children in a residential setting, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with young people and committed to creating a nurturing environment that promotes positive growth and stability.

Duties
- Supervise and engage with children in daily activities, fostering a safe and supportive atmosphere
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised assessment and care plans tailored to each child's needs
- Support children with their emotional, behavioural, and educational needs through personalised care
- Facilitate recreational activities, outings, and educational programmes to promote social skills and confidence
- Learn about and use the PERMA well being toolkit in your work.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, behaviour, and incidents in accordance with organisational policies
- Collaborate with colleagues, social workers, and families to ensure cohesive care delivery
- Drive children safely to appointments, activities, or outings as required using your own vehicle- allowance paid
- Respond promptly to emergencies or behavioural challenges in a calm and professional manner
- Sleep in duties - paid at £52 per night additional fee
Skills
- Proven experience working with children or in residential childcare settings of at least 1 year
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive children safely as needed
- Strong understanding of child development and behaviour management techniques
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and team members
- Ability to develop and follow care plans tailored to individual needs
- Good IT skills for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Organised, patient, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations
