Job Description
We are looking for a Kennel Assistant to join our small team. Our dogs are our family and our employees are the backbone of our business. The ideal candidate will be reliable, punctual, and dependable.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Greeting customers for viewings, general enquiries and to check their dogs in/out of the premises.
- Answering telephone and email enquiries.
- Maintaining the kennel booking system, record keeping and taking payments.
- Cleaning kennels and fields to a high standard.
- Feeding and administering medication.
- Providing enrichment for the dogs throughout the day.
- Taking photos and uploading to social media.
- Setting up kennels for dogs coming in, allocating kennels.
- Restocking supplies as needed from stockroom.
- Possible transportation of dogs- a company vehicle will be provided.
Skills
- Must be over 18 due to insurances.
- Must have previous experience working in a kennels.
- Qualifications in animal care, or working towards at college.
- Must be dependable and reliable, we are a small team and therefore unexpected absence has a negative effect.
- Must have good communication skills, both face to face and via telephone/email. Good grammar and punctuation.
- Must have the ability to work flexible shifts, additional shifts will be required during busy periods/to cover holiday.
- Must have a full clean driving licence in order to drive the company vehicle for the transportation of dogs. Over 30.
- Must have own transport due to rural location.
- Must be ok to work in all types of weather for extended periods of time.
- Must have the ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
Hours
- We are open 7 days a week, so shifts will be 4-5 out of 7, to include weekends.
- Times 0730-1800 warmer weather. 0800-1700 winter hours due to early nights.
- Due to extreme heat, we are starting at 0700 hours.
Additional shifts WILL be required during busy periods and to cover holiday.
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: £13.00 per hour
