4 months temporary contract with view to extension if needed at end of first temporary period depending on current staffing
We are seeking sickness/holiday cover for a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that cleaning is to a high standard, contributing to the overall appearance and cleanliness of various apartment blocks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively . A valid driving licence is essential and ideally for insurance purposes applicants will need to be age 25 & over to drive our vans.
This role includes the following
Hoovering, sweeping, mopping, dusting, litter picking and the upkeep of bin sheds. General cleaning duties and basic maintenance e.g changing a light bulb, glueing stair treds etc..
Please note in regards to the bin sheds they are very untidy and require a lot of handling of black bin bags which are normally broken. It’s an incredibly messy part of the job you will need to use a shovel and broom to tidy up when the dustmen leave.
Some bins are also needed to be moved by hand ready for the dustmen to collect, they are incredibly heavy, so please bear this in mind.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning & maintenance of commercial properties using appropriate tools and cleaning solutions.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed.
- To be able to work in other areas of the business when needed.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition, reporting any issues as necessary.
- Drive to various job sites as required, ensuring timely arrival for scheduled appointments.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organised work environment both on-site and in company vehicles.
Experience
- Previous experience in cleaning or a related field is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English.
- A valid driving licence is needed for travelling between job locations.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.
