About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee construction projects from initial planning and pre-construction through to completion and handover.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and internal teams to coordinate all aspects of project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage construction projects from inception through to practical completion and handover.
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, budgets and delivery plans.
- Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and internal teams.
- Monitor project progress against programme, budget and agreed milestones.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with health and safety legislation, company policies and site requirements.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure projects meet the required quality specifications.
- Manage procurement, subcontractor appointments and supplier relationships.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts and project documentation.
- Chair and attend project, progress and site meetings.
- Provide regular project updates and reports to clients and senior management.
- Manage variations, valuations, applications for payment and other commercial matters in conjunction with the commercial team.
- Liaise with building control, planning authorities, consultants and other relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure construction activities are properly coordinated and delivered in accordance with the project programme.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging and final completion.
- Coordinate the preparation of handover documentation, warranties, certificates and operation and maintenance information.
- Maintain accurate project records and ensure all relevant documentation is completed and up to date.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
Health & Safety
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across all projects.
- Ensure appropriate risk assessments, method statements and site procedures are in place.
- Monitor contractors' compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Take appropriate action where unsafe practices or conditions are identified.
- Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience managing construction projects from start to completion.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing and project delivery.
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety requirements within the construction industry.
- Strong project planning, organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, programmes, resources and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications and contracts.
- Experience managing subcontractors and supply-chain partners.
- Confident working with clients, consultants and senior stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant construction/project management software.
Desirable:
- Relevant construction or project management qualification.
- CSCS qualification/card appropriate to the role.
- SMSTS qualification.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience with [commercial / residential / industrial / civil engineering / refurbishment] projects.
- Membership of a relevant professional body such as CIOB, RICS or APM.
Pay: £31,619.92-£70,008.30 per year
