Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated Warehouse Operative and Forklift (FLT) Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing warehouse operations, including the safe handling, storage, and movement of goods. Your expertise in forklift operation and materials handling will ensure smooth shipping and receiving processes, contributing to overall operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with warehouse management systems, and a proactive approach to equipment maintenance and repair.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklift trucks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory updates
- Handle materials with care, adhering to safety protocols and proper lifting techniques
- Use warehouse management systems to track inventory levels, locate items, and update records
- Perform routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain operational efficiency
- Support warehouse organization by stacking, sorting, and storing goods systematically
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily productivity targets and resolve logistical issues
- Assist in stock counts and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with health and safety standards
Experience:
- Proven experience working in a warehouse environment with familiarity in materials handling
- Valid forklift license (FLT certification) with experience operating different types of forklifts
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems or similar inventory software
- Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures
- Basic math skills for inventory counting, measurements, and documentation accuracy
