M N Mollon & Partners Ltd and Healing Tails Vet Practice are looking for a motivated, professional and highly organised Assistant Practice Manager to join our team supporting both horses and domestic animals.
Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm or 9am–5pm rota.
We are a close-knit team who support one another and take pride in providing excellent care and service to our clients and their animals.
The Assistant Practice Manager will work closely with the owners and veterinary team to help oversee the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the practice and support the management of staff and administration.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Experienced in an administrative, supervisory or management role
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- A self-starter who can use their own initiative and work independently
- Reliable, flexible and able to prioritise workload in a busy environment
- Confident managing and supporting staff
- Professional and approachable with excellent communication skills
- Confident dealing with clients face-to-face and over the phone
- Comfortable dealing with client complaints and resolving difficult situations professionally
- Experienced in bookkeeping and financial administration
- Confident processing payments and dealing with invoices and client accounts
- Experience using Xero accounting software is preferred, however not essential as training will be provided
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office
- Able to assist with staff rotas, holidays, recruitment, training and general staff administration
- Able to assist with payroll and liaise with external accountants when required
- Comfortable monitoring expenditure, ordering supplies and keeping stock levels organised
- Able to assist with the implementation of company policies, VMD inspections and health & safety requirements
- Discreet and trustworthy when handling confidential staff, client and financial information
- Able to identify problems, find solutions and make decisions using their own initiative
As this is a veterinary practice, the successful candidate must also be comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment and around animals.
The role will involve working around blood, animal samples and the veterinary laboratory, and the ideal candidate must be comfortable handling blood and working in a laboratory environment when required.
Previous equine and/or veterinary experience is highly desirable.
