Simple Solar is a fast-growing specialist in solar PV and battery storage. Our mission is to make buying and installing solar simple, straightforward and enjoyable.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an organised and proactive Installation Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of our solar PV and battery installations.
You’ll work closely with our Customer Relationship Manager, Store Manager, installation teams, surveyors and wider office team to make sure every installation is properly prepared, resourced and delivered to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of solar PV and battery installations
- Working closely with our Customer Relationship Manager, who coordinates installation dates with customers
- Planning and allocating work across our roofing and electrical installation teams
- Checking surveys, designs and job information ahead of installation and identifying potential issues
- Working with our Store Manager to make sure the correct equipment and materials are available and ready for each installation
- Coordinating deliveries, scaffolding and other requirements needed for installations
- Providing installation teams with clear and accurate job information before attending site
- Monitoring installations while they are in progress and resolving issues quickly when they arise
- Managing changes, delays and unexpected problems during installations
- Taking ownership of remedial works, from identifying and logging issues through to allocating the appropriate team and ensuring they are resolved promptly
- Prioritising remedials and return visits and keeping track of outstanding works through to completion
- Attending installation sites across Devon and Cornwall where required to oversee works, investigate issues and support the resolution of remedials
- Providing first-line support for straightforward system and monitoring issues
- Developing a good working knowledge of Fox ESS inverter and battery systems, with training and development provided
- Working with the Customer Relationship Manager where installation issues, remedials or changes need to be communicated to customers
- Making sure installations are completed properly and outstanding works are dealt with promptly
- Ensuring installation paperwork, commissioning information and job records are completed correctly
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, organisation and customer service
- Helping develop and improve our installation processes as the business continues to grow
What We’re Looking For
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple installations and remedial works at the same time
- Confident coordinating teams, materials and changing priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly
- Technically minded and comfortable developing an understanding of solar PV and battery systems
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicating with installers, suppliers, customers and office staff
- Proactive, with the ability to spot potential problems before they affect an installation
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience within solar PV, electrical installations, construction or a similar trade environment would be advantageous
- Basic knowledge of solar PV and battery storage systems is desirable, although training will be provided
- Previous experience managing or coordinating installation teams would be advantageous
- Comfortable using CRM, scheduling and job management systems
- Full UK driving licence is essential, as the role will involve regular travel to installation sites
You do not need to be an electrician or experienced solar installer. However, you will need to be technically minded, have a practical understanding of installations and be willing to develop your knowledge of solar PV, battery storage and Fox ESS systems. Full product and system training will be provided.

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Location: Based in our Plymstock, Plymouth office, with regular travel to installation sites across Devon and Cornwall
Salary: £45,000-£50,000
Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
