Job Advert: Assistant Depot Manager - Automotive
Location: Harpenden
Basic Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm - Weekends on rotation
Experienced Assistant Manager / Workshop Supervisor wanted for a busy automotive service and repair centre.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll help run the centre, support the workshop team, deal with customers and keep the day moving properly.
You’ll still need a good technical understanding, but this is not just a tools-based role. We’re looking for someone who has experience helping manage a team, support targets and keep a busy automotive site running smoothly.
The role of Assistant Depot Manager
Day to day, you’ll be involved with:
- Supporting the Centre Manager with daily operations
- Helping organise work through the workshop
- Dealing with customers, bookings and updates
- Supporting technicians in the workshop when needed
- Helping the centre hit sales and service targets
- Maintaining high standards across the site
- Supporting stock, admin and general centre processes
- Coaching and supporting the team
What we are looking for from our Assistant Depot Manager
- Automotive workshop, fast-fit or service centre experience
- Previous management, assistant manager, supervisor or team leader experience
- Good technical/mechanical understanding
- Confident dealing with customers
- Commercial awareness
- Good organisation skills
- Ability to support and motivate a team
- Full UK driving licence
