Job Summary
We are seeking a Rolling Mill Operator/Shift Supervisor working a Night Shift, responsible for producing steel channels and overseeing day-to-day production operations. You will be supervising a team of 5 rolling mill operators, ensuring that output targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. The role involves leading production staff, coordinating workflow, supporting continuous improvement, and working closely with quality, maintenance, logistics, and management teams to maintain smooth manufacturing operations.

Experience in operating a roll forming mill is desired.
Duties
- Operate a rolling mill
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff during the night shift to meet operational targets.
- Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance or repairs as necessary.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety policies, safe systems of work, and correct use of PPE.
- Conduct quality checks on products and address any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of production outputs, downtime, and safety incidents.
- Train new team members on operational procedures and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with warehouse personnel to manage inventory levels and materials flow.
- Promote a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, efficiency, and safety.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments, and previous supervisory experience.
- Mechanical knowledge is essential for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred but not mandatory; leadership qualities are essential.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively lead a team and coordinate with other departments.
- Experience working with warehouse management systems or inventory control is advantageous.
