Swietelsky UK, a leader in railway engineering, are looking for competent OTM Techinician and Operators to join the team, to help keep the rail infrastructure safe, resiliant and efficient. SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Undertake pre-planned maintenance of OTM fleet, as required by maintenance periodicity and applicable maintenance schedules.
2. Ability to undertake fault finding and repair of OTM fleet before, during and after machine shifts within permissible working hours.
3. Undertake machine maintenance, overhaul, major component replacement and outstanding repairs, in any authorised maintenance location.
4. Attain and retain required competency as stated by ROGS (The Railways and Other Guided Transport System (Safety) Regulations 2006) and other applicable standards.
5. Ensure all machines systems are tested and calibrated to ensure machine complies with all applicable quality and safety standards.
6. Operate “OTM”, for which certificate of competency has been obtained.
7. Responsible for cleaning and fuelling of machines as directed.
8. Arrange to complete and return all associated paperwork/electronic format, including Phires/DWR forms, completion of log books, updating machine databases and other documentation as required.
9. Comply with all Rules and Regulations and observe all local conditions.
10. Full UK recognised Driver’s license.
11. Advise control of all deviation to the planned shift e.g.: planned volume not achieved, plant performance, crewing, non-provisions of pilot-men, etc.
12. Liaise with workshop staff and inform of equipment required for forthcoming jobs.
13. Work away from home to meet contractual and training requirements.
14. There may be a requirement for On-Call services.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:
1. KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience of maintaining and repairing Rail plant machinery
- Proven ability in fault finding on Rail plant machinery
- Completed recognised Apprenticeship or NVQ to Level 3 in maintenance activities.
- Previous knowledge of the railway is essential
- Experience of diesel/hydraulic plant is essential
- Must have Operator competency for applicable “OTM”
2. SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Ability to pass Personal Track Safety and the entrance medical, including substance testing and colour blindness, is essential. Others as agreed to meet the requirement of the post.
- Willingness to partake in further training.
- Good interpersonal skills
3. EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience of the role is essential.
