Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Team Leader to support the Engineering Manager for the delivery of a schedule of planned and reactive maintenance activity across all factory units to minimise down time and improve efficiencies.
Responsibilities
Inspect facilities on a regular and planned basis to identify problems and plan maintenance as required working with the engineering supervisor to agree planned works and when.
Allocate work to the engineering team which has been set by the engineering supervisor, monitor its progress and document and communicate when complete or any issues that arose.
Monitor Stock and equipment control and update engineering supervisor on what is needed and when.
Hands on assistant with PPM and break downs as and when required.
Work with the Engineering supervisor to develop a new PPM system and parts stock control to replace existing limited paper system.
Work and support the factory line setters to ensure they have help when needed and address any production line / machinery issues with them.
Assist the engineering supervisor with 3rd party contractors during installations, repairs and planned maintenance, ensuring safe systems of work and site procedures are always followed.
Participate with engineering project tasks, such as new equipment, Continuous improvements to existing equipment to improve efficiencies across the site production areas.
Diagnose faults and undertake work as required.
Work with the engineering supervisor ensuring 24-hour 7 day a week engineering cover in the event of a breakdown to minimise down time in production.
Ensuring all duties are carried out in accordance with current legislation and company procedures, particularly relating to (though not exclusively to) health and safety and quality.
Contribute to the on-going monitoring of the maintenance budget, always ensuring compliance to budget.
Support Apprentices
Experience
Formal professional training and qualifications in engineering fields such as electrical, mechanical, pneumatics and plumbing.
Proven experience as a maintenance team-leader or similar role, ideally in a comparable food manufacturing environment.
Strong technical knowledge of all building systems, production lines and automated equipment.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
Ability to plan both routine maintenance and projects - task and project management ability.
Attention to detail and a desire to get it right first time.
Prior knowledge / experience in maintaining PPM systems.
Excellent leadership abilities and experience in managing teams.
Strong communication and people skills.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Understanding of budgeting and cost control of maintenance budgets.
Computer Literate
Experience or knowledge of a high care environment

Pay: £52,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
