In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently connecting low voltage (LV) and high voltage (HV) power cables, ensuring reliable energy transmission. Duties
- Perform cable jointing for LV and HV power cables using specialized tools and techniques to ensure secure, durable connections.
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery to prepare cable trenches, ensuring safe and precise excavation work.
- Conduct welding tasks when required for cable terminations or structural support components.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to strip, crimp, splice, and insulate cables according to technical specifications.
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues during jointing processes, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously during all operations, including working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Assist with routine maintenance of equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance on site.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in electrical work, particularly in LV/HV cable jointing or similar roles involving high-voltage systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Ability to operate excavators or similar machinery safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards and procedures related to high-voltage environments.
- Knowledge of cable preparation, termination techniques, and jointing procedures for LV/HV systems.
- Good physical condition with the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Relevant certifications in electrical work or cable jointing are highly desirable; ongoing training is supported.

Pay: £35,000.00-£50,000.00 per month
