Gwent Archives has an exciting opportunity for an Archives Apprentice to join their team and develop a career in the archives and heritage sector. This varied role offers the chance to gain hands-on experience working with unique historical collections, helping to preserve and promote the documentary heritage of Gwent for future generations. You will support access to archive collections both onsite and online, assist with cataloguing and preservation activities, and contribute to exhibitions, outreach projects and digital engagement initiatives
Whether you are starting your career, looking for a new challenge or hoping to build a future in the archives and heritage sector, this role offers excellent opportunities to develop your skills, knowledge and experience within a supportive team environment. You will gain practical experience in areas such as archive collections management, digitisation, preservation, customer service and community engagement, while learning from experienced professionals and making a valuable contribution to preserving the history of local communities.

Whether your experience comes from education, volunteering, work or personal interests, we'd love to hear how your skills and enthusiasm could contribute to the work of Gwent Archives. Training and support will be provided to help you develop and thrive in the role.
