Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Block Paving Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with the installation and maintenance of paved surfaces, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety. The successful candidate will be eager to learn, reliable, and physically fit, with a keen eye for detail. Experience in related trades such as masonry, carpentry, roofing, or welding is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Assisting with the preparation of sites by clearing and levelling surfaces
- Laying blocks and paving materials accurately according to project specifications
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and masonry equipment safely and effectively
- Mixing and applying mortar or other adhesives as required
- Handling materials such as bricks, blocks, and paving stones with care
- Supporting the team in setting out work areas and ensuring correct alignment
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Assisting with other construction-related tasks including basic carpentry or roofing work when needed
Qualifications
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, or masonry work is desirable but not mandatory
- Knowledge of bricklaying, masonry techniques, or related trades such as carpentry or roofing is a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials safely
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Reliable attitude with a willingness to learn new skills
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites
