Role Overview
We are looking for Activity Instructors for weekend work, some flexibility is required to cover weekdays as the business requires, however this position is primarily to cover the busy weekend periods,
Hazlewood Adventures, part of Hazlewood Castle Hotel, is an outdoor experience centre offering a variety of activities, corporate team building & family & group days out.
The Activity Centre Instructor is responsible for delivering safe, engaging and memorable activity sessions across a range of outdoor activities including quad biking, archery, axe throwing, crossbows and air rifles.
You will work with a wide variety of customers — corporate bookings, social groups and families — ensuring sessions are fun, professional and safely delivered.
This is a seasonal/casual role therefore you must be available throughout school holidays and weekends which is when the centre is busiest.
You must be 18 years or over to be considered for this role and have had some outdoor activity experience, although full training on specific activities will be given
Key Responsibilities
Activity Delivery
- Deliver instructed activity sessions to individuals and groups
- Provide clear safety briefings and demonstrations
- Supervise participants throughout sessions to ensure safety and enjoyment
- Adapt delivery style to suit different ages, abilities and group types
Safety & Equipment
- Carry out daily equipment checks before and after sessions
- Set up and pack away equipment correctly
- Report any faults, damage or safety concerns immediately
- Follow all risk assessments and operating procedures
Customer Experience
- Create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for all guests
- Encourage participation, confidence and enjoyment
- Represent the brand positively and professionally at all times
Site Support
- Assist with site set-up, pack-down and general housekeeping
- Support other activities or instructors when required
- Help maintain a clean, organised and professional site
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Confident communicator with good people skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong focus on safety and professionalism
- Ability to work with people with differing ability levels
- Weekend and school holiday work is essential
Desirable
- Experience delivering outdoor or adventure activities
- Relevant NGB qualifications (or willingness to train)
- First Aid qualification
- Mechanical experience (particularly for quad bikes)
