Evening Community Carer – Plymouth
£13.50 per hour + paid travel time + mileage
Around 20 hours per week | 3/4 evenings | Alternate weekends | Paid training
Looking for part-time work that fits around your day?
We’re looking for friendly, reliable people to join our evening care team in Plymouth and surrounding areas.
This role is designed around four evenings per week, approximately 5pm–10pm, including alternate weekends, giving you around 16-20 hours of regular part-time work each week.
It could work brilliantly if you want to keep your days free for family, studying, another commitment – or simply because evenings suit you better.
Daytime hours may also be available if you would like additional shifts, but they are not required for this role.
Want a care job where you're actually given time to care?

What does an evening in care actually look like?
Evening care is about helping people wind down safely and comfortably at home.
You might help someone prepare their evening meal, support them with medication, make a cup of tea, help with personal care, get things ready for the following morning or simply sit down and have a proper conversation.
You may support people with:
- Personal care and getting ready for bed
- Medication
- Evening meals and drinks
- Household tasks
- Mobility
- Shopping or appointments
- Social activities
- Maintaining their independence at home
Most importantly, you’ll help people feel safe, comfortable, listened to and in control of their own lives.
Never worked in care before?
That’s absolutely fine.
We’re much more interested in who you are than whether you’ve worked in care before.
If you’re kind, dependable, comfortable talking to people and the sort of person others know they can rely on, we’d like to hear from you.
We’ll provide your induction, training and ongoing support.
Already experienced?
Great. We also want experienced carers who are ready to develop.
CityCare offers opportunities to progress through roles including Peer Mentor, Senior Carer, Practice Lead and Care Coordinator, with training and development available along the way.
