Duties
- Safely operate forklifts to move, load, and unload materials within the warehouse and shipping areas
- Use warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately
- Perform routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure forklift safety and functionality
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stacking, storage, and retrieval according to safety standards
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying shipments against documentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote safety and efficiency
- Support warehouse operations by participating in stock counts, inventory audits, and cycle counts
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a busy warehouse environment
- Mechanical knowledge for basic troubleshooting and minor repairs of equipment
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems for inventory control
- Strong understanding of materials handling techniques and safety protocols
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements, quantities, and weights
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and prolonged periods of standing or walking
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures to ensure accurate processing of goods
