The Role
We're looking for a Senior Engineer - Projects to join our Research & Engineering team in Glasgow.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to support the development and delivery of innovative renewable energy projects across offshore wind, wave and tidal technologies.
Working within our Engineering Projects team, you'll play a key role in delivering research, technology development and commercial projects that help solve some of the sector's most significant engineering challenges. You'll provide technical leadership, engineering expertise and project delivery support across a diverse portfolio of renewable energy programmes, helping to shape the future of offshore renewable energy.
You'll work closely with project teams, industry partners and business development colleagues, supporting the scoping, development and delivery of projects spanning technology development, engineering innovation, analysis, design and supply chain advancement.
What You'll Be Doing

Providing technical leadership across offshore renewable energy research projects and testing activities.
- Delivering commercial and collaborative projects within ORE Catapult's Research & Engineering portfolio.
- Supporting the development and delivery of renewable energy technology innovation projects.

Providing technical guidance and engineering expertise to colleagues, partners and clients.
- Developing innovative research and commercial project opportunities aligned to ORE Catapult's strategic objectives.
- Supporting project scoping, planning and technical delivery across multiple projects.
- Working closely with technology developers, industry partners and the wider offshore renewable energy supply chain.
- Representing ORE Catapult at industry forums, workshops and stakeholder events.
- Supporting and mentoring engineers, graduates and interns within the Engineering team.
Producing and reviewing high-quality technical reports, analysis and project documentation.

About you
You'll be an experienced engineer with a passion for innovation and technology development within the renewable energy sector. You'll enjoy solving complex engineering challenges, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and helping deliver impactful technical solutions.
You'll ideally have:

A degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status or be working towards chartership.
- Significant post-graduate engineering experience, typically around seven years or more.
- Experience supporting the delivery of engineering, research, development or technology innovation projects.
- Experience using CAD and engineering analysis or simulation software.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering environments.
- An interest in offshore renewable energy and emerging technologies.
A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of technical activities.
