Purpose of Role
Operate the Sembcorp Energy UK assets in a safe and efficient manner. Working closely with the shift operations and environmental teams providing support to continuous plant operations to maximise gross margin.
Co-ordinate the work of environmental service contractors for the general maintenance of environmental equipment and site drainage systems to a standard that ensures safe operation and compliance to operational rules, policies, procedures and statutory regulations, minimising risk and exceeding customer expectations.
Main responsibilities are to maintain plant integrity and ensure reliable availability of supplies to customers.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Coordinate Environmental Services team activities in line with Sembcorp procedures and HSE requirements.
2. Inspect, operate, and maintain fixed plant and portable equipment.
3. Co-ordinate day-to-day operations for Water Treatment, DSP, and Environmental Services.
4. Support and set up systems for emergency response on drainage and buffer tank systems.
5. Report accidents, incidents, complaints, and equipment defects and log in the database.
6. Complete required training to build skills and flexibility.
7. Support operational tasks, projects, and objectives across Water Treatment, DSP, and Environmental Services.
8. Operate plant equipment, adjust, and complete all plant routines.
9. Identify defects through visual checks and raise actions via the CMMS.
10. Manage consumables, waste, and associated administration.
11. Isolate, prepare, and recommission equipment for maintenance.
12. Perform sampling, analysis, gas testing, and plant trip/alarm testing.
13. Train new operators.
14. Conduct safety tours and report findings.
15. Maintain detailed shift logs and deliver thorough handovers.
16. Complete all Learning Management System requirements.
17. Operate the plant remotely without supervision.
18. Demonstrate competency in emergency response procedures
Qualification, Skills and Experience
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent (Trade Specific)
