Duties
Ensure all traffic laws and safety regulations for Mini buses are adhered to at all times.
Maintain safety precautions when children are boarding and departing the bus.
To ensure all Child Protection Procedures are adhered to at all times.
Adhere to signed Collection Registration Form and only hand child over to the authorised person/s.
Ensure children are safely strapped in appropriate car seats in line with the new car safety guidelines.
Undertake all necessary journeys to provide transport to and from services for families as required.
Transport staff to and from training events as required by Management.
Ensure basic maintenance of the L.A.S.T. Sure Start bus is carried out and will make Management aware of any faults discovered.
Log all journeys in written format as required.
Report and record all accidents, vehicle damage and children’s injuries as they occur.
Feedback any important information parents disclose and relay this to Family Support Workers.
Keeps mini bus clean ensuring no food is eaten on the bus. Hoover and mop weekly clean all windows monthly and ensure care seat are washed twice a year.
Ensure purchasing ordering procedures are adhered to when purchasing fuel or other items for the bus.
Communicate with project manager, where applicable on a daily basis to ensure a safe, secure and clean environment is maintained in all buildings and outside grounds.
Carry out necessary maintenance duties throughout the building as requested by management
Fulfil caretaking responsibilities on a regular daily basis that are associated with the cleanliness and upkeep of all buildings and outside grounds.
Open up and close Building as required making sure that the buildings are secure and locked.
Carry out routine disposal of Bulky refuse from Centre to Local Council Skip. (Weekly Basis)
Report unauthorized activities including vandalism, break-ins and fire alarms in or on the grounds for sure start.
Assist with the setup of rooms or programmes or other events.
Responsible to operate all machinery associated to duties, ensuring equipment is properly utilized and maintained.
Ensure all safety equipment is used at all times when carrying out garden duties or other duties.
Ensure all garden equipment is services once a year and report any faults.
To facilitate any programmes to which you have received certified training or knowledge off ie gardening, football skills etc.
Keep up to date on weekly basis all new fire legislation
Ensure fire extinguishers have external check on yearly basis
Undertake any other tasks requested by Management in line with role i.e. hours outside of contract.
Ensure all tools are kept in a locked tool box and stored safely and keep an up to date inventory of same.
Report any spillage of dangerous liquids on self or other and follow through on safety policy.
To be responsible for your own safety in line with manual handling guidance, use of ladders and health & safety act.
To support staff at Sure Start events.
To support staff ratios in the crèche setting on an adhoc basis.
To facilitate entertainment at seasonal events i.e. Santa, Easter Bunny etc.
Support fun days & events by transporting equipment and ensure safety measures are carried out.
Requirements
A minimum age of 25 years, at least 2 years driving experience.
Hold a CPC or HGV clean driving license.
