We are a small, nurturing, home‑from‑home nursery with a strong family ethos, and we are looking for an experienced, caring and confident Deputy Manager to join our close‑knit team. This opportunity has become available due to the relocation of our current Deputy, and we are hoping to welcome someone who shares our values, our warmth, and our commitment to providing exceptional early years care.
Our nursery is known for its cosy, welcoming environment where children feel safe, loved and truly at home. Relationships sit at the heart of everything we do—between staff, children and families—and we’re looking for a Deputy Manager who naturally thrives in a setting built on trust, kindness and genuine connection.
What we’re looking for
You will need to bring both professional experience and a naturally nurturing approach. We are seeking someone who is:

- Experienced within early years, ideally with leadership responsibilities
- Confident supporting staff, routines and room practice
- Warm, positive and able to build strong relationships with families
- Knowledgeable in the EYFS, safeguarding and child development
- Passionate about creating a homely, emotionally secure environment
- Able to lead by example, inspire others and maintain high standards
Your role within our nursery
As Deputy Manager, you will play a key part in the day‑to‑day running of the nursery and in shaping the experience children and families receive. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Manager with daily operations, leadership and decision‑making
- Leading practice across the nursery, with a particular focus on the preschool room
- Ensuring routines run smoothly and staff feel supported, valued and confident
- Acting as a key person, building meaningful relationships with children and families
- Maintaining our warm, family‑orientated ethos throughout the setting
- Supporting staff development, wellbeing and teamwork
- Upholding safeguarding, health and safety and high‑quality care at all times
Why join us?
You’ll be joining a nursery where:
- Children are at the centre of every decision
- Staff are valued, supported and encouraged to grow
- Families feel welcomed, listened to and part of our community
- The environment is calm, cosy and designed to feel like home
- Teamwork, kindness and continuity are essential
If you’re an experienced practitioner ready to take the next step—or a current Deputy seeking a truly nurturing, family‑feel setting—we would love to hear from you. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a small, caring nursery where your warmth and leadership will be genuinely appreciated.
