Offering long-term, medium-term and short-term care, as part of an individual recovery pathway to support our residents in reaching their full potential, enabling some to move back into the wider community, with varying degrees of support.
We are The Gravers Care Home Ltd, a well established, family run, small business, looking for a Bank Night Support Worker for our care premises. Working hours for this role are 8pm to 8am. This role will be based across our three sites in the York area, all within a mile of each other:
- The Gravers Care Home - 17 Wigginton Road, York, YO31 8HG
- Feversham House - 1 Feversham Crescent, York, YO31 8HQ
- Pendale Lodge - 118 Clifton, York, YO30 6BQ
Induction will be based at The Gravers Care Home.
Job specifications and responsibilities:
1. To attend to the needs of the residents, and encourage them to return to bed.
2. Be aware what constitutes, “help”, within a resident’s care plan.
3. Care for the physical wellbeing of residents.
4. Read and write reports. Take part in staff and residents meetings and attend training sessions.
5. Check, mend and launder residents clothing
6. Observe the Home’s Health and Safety Policy at all times.
7. Keep information regarding the residents confidential at all times outside of the Home.
8. Carry out regular checks on residents (which residents and at what intervals to be determined by senior member of staff). Carry out fire check on the building at regular, predetermined intervals.
9. Answer call bells and give assistance required.
10. Give help and reassurance to residents as required.
11. When not attending to residents use the time available to perform domestic duties, as instructed.
12. Ensure the security of the home is maintained at all times.
13. Administer medication (after in house training).
14. Report all matters appertaining to residents to the senior staff.
15. Encourage choice and independence within the confines of what is practicable and socially acceptable.
Key Details:
- The weekday rate for this role is £14.30 per hour and the weekend rate is £14.80.
- 12 hour night shifts from 8pm - 8am.
- Bank Staff - 0 hour contract offering you flexibility.
Pay: £14.30-£14.80 per hour
