Overview
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform) Operator specializing in scissor lifts to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating scissor lifts efficiently and safely to facilitate various construction, maintenance, and installation tasks. Your expertise will ensure that projects progress smoothly while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate scissor lifts and other MEWPs to reach elevated work areas, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment, checking for mechanical issues, proper functioning of safety devices, and overall readiness before use
- Assist with setup and positioning of the lift to optimize access while maintaining stability and safety
- Collaborate with site supervisors and team members to coordinate lift operations during various phases of projects
- Maintain detailed logs of daily equipment inspections, usage hours, and any maintenance or repair needs
- Follow all safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to prevent accidents or injuries on site
- Support other team members with related tasks such as basic mechanical troubleshooting or assisting with equipment transportation when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience operating scissor lifts and familiarity with MEWP safety standards and regulations
- Valid certification for operating MEWPs (such as a recognized aerial work platform operator license)
- Strong mechanical knowledge to identify potential issues with equipment and perform basic troubleshooting
- Experience with commercial driving to transport equipment between sites safely and efficiently
- Basic understanding of heavy machinery such as excavators is a plus for supporting broader site operations
- Excellent communication skills for clear coordination with team members and site supervisors
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and productivity
