Due to continued growth within our Study Programme provision, we are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team.
Role Overview:
The Teaching Assistant supports the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment for Study Programme students, including those with additional learning needs. The role is focused on providing practical support, promoting learner independence, and helping students to achieve their personal and educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in lessons, small groups, or one-to-one sessions to reinforce learning and encourage progress.
- Assist Tutors with preparing resources, classroom activities, and differentiated support for learners with SEND.
- Work with Study Programme Tutors to contribute to the initial assessment process, induction activities, and identification of gaps in learning.
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement, ensuring students feel safe, supported, and included.
- Devise and deliver appropriate interventions, under Tutor guidance, to help students remain on track for completion of their course, agreeing and supporting relevant targets and actions.
- Support students with developing study skills, employability skills, and personal confidence.
Requirements:
- Experience of supporting young people within an educational or training environment.
- Level 3 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards).
- Calm, empathetic demeanour with a passion for building rapport with students.
- Commitment to supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
- Must be confident to support and, where required, lead classroom sessions in the tutor’s absence, ensuring continuity of learning by following lesson plans, maintaining classroom expectations, and supporting learners to remain engaged and on task.
- Must have own transport to transport learners when required.
