About the Company
Our client is a specialist project delivery and procurement organisation operating within the healthcare sector. They work on large-scale international projects, supporting the sourcing, procurement, and delivery of medical equipment to healthcare providers across developing markets.
Due to continued growth and a major international healthcare project, they are looking to appoint a Buyer to join their London-based team.
Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional to play a key role in the delivery of a significant healthcare infrastructure project. You will be responsible for managing procurement activities, coordinating with suppliers, ensuring compliance with project requirements, and supporting the successful delivery of medical equipment to healthcare facilities overseas.
The role would suit someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on procurement position and is looking to develop their career within an international project environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage purchase orders and supplier communications throughout the procurement cycle
- Source quotations and validate supplier proposals
- Monitor deliveries and coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely supply
- Build and maintain supplier relationships across the medical device sector
- Ensure all procurement documentation and export requirements are completed accurately
- Support customs clearance and compliance activities for international shipments
- Maintain procurement records and supplier databases
- Participate in supplier and client site inspections where required
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to support project delivery objectives
- Assist with additional procurement and project-related activities as required
Person Specification
Essential
- Previous experience within a Buyer, Procurement Officer, Purchasing Officer, or similar procurement role
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Experience managing purchase orders and supplier relationships
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Proactive and able to work independently
Desirable
- Experience within medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, or a regulated industry
- CIPS qualification (Level 3 or above)
- Understanding of procurement compliance and documentation processes
- Experience supporting international supply chains or export activities
