Salary: £29,000–£32,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week (4 or 5 days from 7)

St Austell Golf Club is a welcoming members' golf club set on a beautiful James Braid-designed course in Cornwall.
We pride ourselves on offering a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where members, visitors and guests enjoy great food alongside great golf. Our kitchen provides breakfasts, lunches, daily specials, society catering and a variety of functions throughout the year.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Lead Cook / Kitchen Supervisor to take day-to-day responsibility for our kitchen, helping us deliver consistently good, homemade food that our members and visitors enjoy.
The Role
This is a hands-on role where you'll prepare and cook a varied menu while organising the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
Working closely with the Golf Club Manager and Bar & Events Manager, you'll help maintain high food standards, keep the kitchen organised and ensure food safety procedures are always followed.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfasts, lunches and daily specials.
- Produce homemade, high-quality food using fresh ingredients.
- Organise food preparation for some society days, functions and events.
- Assist with menu planning and seasonal specials.
- Order stock and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Minimise waste and help achieve food cost targets.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, food safety and hygiene.
- Maintain HACCP procedures and allergen compliance.
- Support and supervise kitchen assistants and temporary chefs when required.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys cooking good, honest food and takes pride in delivering a consistent service.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Cook, Senior Cook, Chef or Sous Chef.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Experience preparing fresh food.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene (essential).
- A positive, reliable and flexible attitude.
Experience in a golf club, pub, café, hotel or similar hospitality environment would be an advantage.
