Full-Time Chef
BASE – Afan Forest

BASE is looking for an experienced and motivated Chef to join our friendly kitchen team.
We’re a busy independent café serving breakfast and lunch all day, with a menu focused on quality breakfast dishes, smash burgers, loaded fries, wraps and other customer favourites. Evening shifts are delivery-only through Just Eat, with no in-house dining.
Hours
* Minimum 30 contracted hours per week.
* Plenty of overtime available.
* 5 shifts per week with 2 days off (unless overtime is agreed).
* Applicants must be available to work Monday to Sunday between 8:00am and 10:00pm.
* Rotating shifts across these hours.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook food to a consistently high standard.
* Follow recipes, menu specifications and presentation guidelines.
* Complete food preparation for service.
* Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
* Maintain excellent food hygiene standards.
* Complete all cleaning schedules and food safety paperwork.
* Ensure stock is rotated and stored correctly.
* Work closely with the rest of the kitchen team to deliver excellent food every service.
Essential Requirements
* Previous commercial kitchen experience is essential.
* Experience with food preparation.
* Ability to work quickly while maintaining quality.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Reliable, hardworking and able to work well under pressure.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
* Able to follow procedures and maintain high standards at all times.
* Must have reliable transport and be able to travel to BASE, Afan Forest.
