Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, supporting patient care and medication management. The ACT will work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to verify prescriptions and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough accuracy checks on dispensed medications prior to patient collection, ensuring correct medication, dosage, and labelling
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to resolve any discrepancies or issues identified during the checking process
- Maintain detailed records of medication verification activities in accordance with legal and organisational protocols
- Assist in managing medication stock levels, including storage, rotation, and documentation of expiry dates
- Support the training of junior staff or trainees in pharmacy procedures and accuracy checking protocols
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, including infection control procedures and confidentiality requirements
- Participate in quality assurance audits and continuous improvement initiatives within the pharmacy setting
Skills
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role within a healthcare environment
- Strong understanding of medication administration processes and pharmaceutical regulations
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in checking prescriptions and medication labelling
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
- Effective communication skills to liaise confidently with pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and patients when necessary
- Knowledge of patient care principles related to medication safety and management

Pay: £30,225.00-£32,500.00 per year
