An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and hard-working Electrician within North Tyneside Council’s Housing Property and Construction service.
The successful candidate will become part of a committed team of skilled trades personnel who carry out in the main, kitchen and bathroom refurbishment work in customers’ homes throughout the borough.
The successful candidate will have excellent customer care skills and consistently deliver high quality work. They will take pride in their work, possess an element of multi-skilling and will ideally possess a good understanding of working in a Local Authority or in the social housing sector.
The successful candidate will be required to work in accordance with current legislation, British Standards, Codes of Practice, safe systems of work and recognised industrial standards. They should also be able to read drawings and identify all necessary materials to carry out the work.

In 2019, North Tyneside Council declared a climate emergency. This declaration set a target to reduce the carbon footprint of the council’s operations, and the borough, by 50% by 2023 and to align to the Government’s net zero target of 2050.
