Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs, including washing, peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, utensils, and equipment to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Support the storage and rotation of stock items to prevent spoilage and waste
- Clear and clean dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools promptly to facilitate smooth kitchen operations
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
- Assist with setting up dining areas or service stations as needed for meal service
- Follow all hygiene protocols and safety procedures diligently to maintain a safe working environment
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or cooking is highly desirable
- Prior restaurant or hotel kitchen experience is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key
- Strong understanding of hygiene standards within a hospitality setting
