About Us
We are a busy and welcoming coffee shop dedicated to serving high-quality food and beverages in a friendly environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and hardworking Cook to join our team.
Position: Full-Time
Hours: 35.5 hours per week
Working Hours:
- Wednesday to Saturday: 8:30am – 4:00 pm
- Sunday: 9:30am – 3:00 pm
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and light meal items to a consistently high standard.
- Monitor portion sizes and minimise food waste.
- Ensure food is presented attractively and consistently.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations and complete required documentation.
- Ensure all food is stored, labelled, and rotated correctly in line with FIFO procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
- Receive deliveries, check quality and quantity, and store items appropriately.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods and support colleagues as required.
- Assist in developing and improving menu items and daily specials.
- Complete daily and weekly cleaning schedules to maintain a safe and organised kitchen.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Cook, Chef, or Kitchen Assistant preferred.
- Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and well organised.
- Available to work the advertised schedule, including Sundays.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2) preferred but not essential.
