Saturday Cook for Match Teas
About us:
South Berkshire Hockey Club is a friendly and welcoming hockey club covering the Bracknell and Wokingham area. We offer competitive and social hockey for adults and juniors. Our Clubhouse is based at Cantley Park, Wokingham.
The role and working environment:
We are seeking a Saturday cook to prepare match teas for our hockey club members.
They will be able to manage a weekly budget in order to purchase and provide a delicious hot meal for our hungry players following their gruelling Saturday matches! The successful candidate will work to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen in order to provide food ready for each team when they finish their matches. They will work alongside the bar person within the bar and kitchen area of the clubhouse.
Applicants must be over 18 as they may be required to serve at the bar.
Main duties and responsibilities:
● To prepare, cook and serve a hot meal for each team playing at home on match days
● To effectively manage a weekly budget
● To purchase all food and drink required (within the committee approved budget)
● To serve food to an agreed time schedule around match times (up to 5 matches in total, so 5 rounds of food required on these days but can be less if fewer home matches one week)
● To clean up after the food has been consumed and ensure all cutlery, dishes and pots and pans are cleaned and tidied away before the end of the shift.
● To ensure the kitchen area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
● Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
Hours of work:
Saturdays during hockey season (October to April).
Hours to be agreed but will vary depending upon each week’s fixtures. Generally, they will be from 10:30am to 7:00pm.
Remuneration:
Rate of pay £15 hour.
