Brookside Garden Centre Café is looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Cook to join our busy kitchen team.
This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who enjoys working as part of a team, takes pride in preparing fresh food, and can maintain high standards even during busy service periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing fresh food for the café throughout the day
- Preparing and maintaining the salad bar
- Cooking raw items on the grill
- Preparing and cooking toasties and hot food
- Following recipes and portion-control guidelines
- Ensuring all food is prepared and presented to a high standard
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and food safety standards
- Correctly storing, labelling and rotating food products
- Keeping kitchen areas, equipment and work surfaces clean and organised
- Following allergen procedures and ensuring food is prepared safely
- Working efficiently during busy periods and maintaining a good pace of service
- Supporting other members of the kitchen and café team when required
- Helping with stock rotation, deliveries and general kitchen duties
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in a café, restaurant, catering or similar kitchen environment
- Confident working in a busy, fast-paced kitchen
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Organised and able to prioritise tasks during busy service
- Passionate about preparing good-quality food
- Knowledgeable about food hygiene, safety and allergen awareness
- Flexible and willing to help wherever needed
- Able to maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment

Please note starting hours are 35, which can be increased to 40.
Rate of pay dependant on experience may be more.
